Waiting lists for nursing schools are giving aspiring nurses the blues these days. Community colleges, four year bachelor’s degree programs, even a lot of LPN programs…they all have many more students applying than they can accommodate.
The first step that you should take is to contact nursing schools to find out prerequisites for earning the nursing degree online. You will find that most schools require their students to have a GED or a high school diploma. You should make sure that you can meet the prerequisites before applying an Online Nursing program.
Many years ago I read some things by Dale Carnegie. I have said I forget most of what I learned from him until one day I read something I thought was my personal thought. It was a Carnegie quote that I had made into a poster and hung over the mirror to read daily for thirty days. This quote had infiltrated my sub-conscious so deeply I believed it was my personal enlightenment. “A good habit is just something I have repeated daily for thirty days one day at a time. It will impregnate my mind and be part of me, one day at a time for thirty days.
So, Lesson Two is that easy. Track the use of your pass. Do not let a student go without having them sign out and indicate their use for it. Call them on chronic pass use. Follow up if they seem to have a problem. You might actually discover that the student has a real reason to go to the Nursing Continuing Education and Florida Nursing CEUs every day during your class. They may require medication. Perhaps they are going through a personal trauma and need to speak with the counselor and your class is really the only time that works. Students are not always trying to get over on you. Sometimes there are legitimate needs for the pass.
Prepare a calendar so that you will be reminded of important dates. This is necessary so you can keep track of when you will submit requirements and the schedule of your quizzes and exams. You can also use a calendar to keep track of your progress and how much you still need to do in order to finish your nursing degree.
